Kitchen Remodel - 2011

I have known Laurie Norton for many years through that which was my business, real estate, and that which is his business, construction. Having seen the superb quality of his work, witnessing his in-depth knowledge of construction and his quiet yet professional manner when dealing with others, my husband and I had to look no further than Laurie Norton when we made the decision to remodel our kitchen.

Laurie has great ideas—new, innovative and cost effective ways to achieve goals. One example is I had given up on our floors. I was sure the only choice we had was to tear them out and replace them; a very costly endeavor. Happily, Laurie knew the remedy and the best subcontractor to make our old floors new. Something we were sure couldn't be done.

It is such a pleasure to work with people who are pleasant to be around, who do their work in a timely manner and who do their best to protect us and our home from dust and odors. Laurie cleaned up every day. He kept a shop vacuum at our house and constantly used it. The subs he recommended did their best too. The floors were covered. The rest of the house was sealed off. The chandelier was even covered.

Another reason we chose Laurie was we knew him to be a leader in sustainable building.

The spec homes he had built not only were attractive but also were very energy efficient. He used many recycled materials and he developed cost effective methods of building. While our kitchen remodel didn't require all of these attributes, we were looking forward to incorporating any ideas he had in this regard.

Laurie didn't disappoint. My husband, Tom, and I highly recommend Laurie Norton as a contractor.
