Custom Bungalows

With this project we want to exemplify the importance of good design and craftsmanship and that they must go hand in hand. Our goal with the bungalows was to build small homes with a luxury feel. We wanted to show this could be done using as many locally sourced materials as possible. Additionally, the reclaimed salvaged wood brought rich patina to the project.

Over the years of building, it has become very apparent that to create a cost-effective home, it has to starts at the design stage. Efficiency in design is key to using just the right amount of lumber, reducing labor costs as well as increasing the homes comfort through increased insulation. Many other factors are touched upon during this phase that will affect the overall cost of the home, including long-term costs such as energy usage and maintenance.

This contemporary design incorporated durable surfaces (Carrara marble, concrete floor, slab wood countertops). We treated our finishes in the same way we treated our custom home builds with their upgrades.
